It uses a wide variety of media, especially plain and ink-jet paper, transparencies, photo paper, and more, up to 11 by 17 inches with full bleed. DesignJet ColorPro GA relies upon four modular ink-delivery systems (black, cyan, magenta, and yellow) with HP thermal ink-jet technology to deliver 600 dpi black and color print resolution for accurate conceptual proofs. HP enables graphic designers to produce and review high-fidelity color compositions and accurate mockups. It also supports SWOP, Euroscale, and U.S. commercial and Japanese standard press emulations.

Ease and speed of operation are ensured with built-in media size sensors and two media input trays, holding 400 sheets plus a 150-sheet capacity output. The rear tray accommodates manual single-sheet feeding. With 4 MB memory built in, the DesignJet is expandable to 68 MB.
